Joe was able to save the lives of four individuals through the selfless act of organ donation. He gave them the ultimate gift…life. Joe is a hero in the eyes of everyone who knew him but especially to his organ recipients. His family finds comfort in knowing that he lives on in the lives of others. The organ donation process is a beautiful but complex and complicated process that requires many stars to align which is why Joe had to hold on so long so he could give life to others. When Joe was wheeled into the operating room there were many teams of surgeons and nurses. Right before the process began we all took a moment as the director read these words. 

"Today we join in a common cause, to uphold and support this individual’s selfless and heroic decision to save the lives of others through organ donation.  As we join our efforts to care for Joe Pedrotti, let us remember that we, by extension, are providing care to his recipients.  May we now take a moment in silence to honor Joe and recognize the life-saving gifts that are being given today.
